still undecided

Okay. It is 8:30am and I am still undecided on who I am going to vote for today. I been asking questions, investigating each candidate and really praying. Which candidate is best for me personally? Which candidate will help me? Which candidate is best for the country? Which candidate would Jesus vote for? Which candidate follows the Biblical principles laid out in the Bible? I find it interesting that Jesus never condemns the current government or the current leader in the government. He condemns the religious leaders but not the Roman officials. If anyone should have been upset about the killing of innocent children, He would have been since a whole group of children were killed because of his birth. Why didn't he say anything? ANd Paul. Many people were being crucified and put in prison for their beliefs and does he ever condemn the government? It just got me thinking about how am I suppose to vote as a follower of Jesus. Since my whole life is baised on following the Bible, it should affect the way I vote.

you're right. All you can do is vote on the issues that are MOST important to you. Whoever gets in, I believe it is part of God's plan. We can't depend on the government for everything - no matter what happens, we still need to live our lives individually as Christ-like as we can.

Good thoughts, Diane! I actually changed my vote at the last minute.

Your husband posted directions here. Good post.

I am shocked at the minimal response.

If everything is God's plan, a form of predestination if you will, then free will gets tossed out the window.

In this country, man chooses the President. Elsewhere, there are kings...and the Bible speaks to Godly influence on their ways.

Here (USA), authority is upside down and the People speak a government into being.

God has planned for THAT via Romans 8:28....
We are More than Conquerors with that verse stating:
"Romans 8:28
(New International Version)

V.28...And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Regardless of who won, wins in the future, or what they do, God works for the good thereafter.

Indeed, Paul wrote the Book of Philippians in jail and it is known as a Book on Joy. Had he NOT been jailed, reaching his jailers (government members) with the truth of Jesus Christ would have been nearly impossible.
His joy at the opportunity of discipleship to these very people is the essence of Philippians.

Baby murder is another focus on law. The Holocaust was hardly a God choice and killed grown, born and unborn children of His.

Hearts must be transformed by the renewing of minds for the killing of babies to be snatched from Satan's hands.

Did God know in advance that Herod would kill babies due to Christ's birth? You bet.
Why else would Wise Men give a baby Frankincence, gold, and myhrr?

A carpenter on the run has little time to create goods, and support the family, when his son is a fugitive from "justice".

The precious gifts could be sold for family support needs.
God plans ahead.

I do not know why children died under Herod's fear of power loss. Nor do I know why they die of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, or hunger in Africa, or disease in South America, or bombs in Vietnam, or of cancer or aids. Some things will never be revealed this side of heaven.

The amazing thing about this post is the blog title and the church. Both hold "Grace".

And Grace has nothing to do with law, government, or legalism......
and everything to do with Our Lord of the New Testament.

Our President is in great need of Christian grace and prayer daily.

It is dangerous to take one or two Biblical frames and create a movie, or smorgasboard of choices to dine on.

But sitting at His feet daily, puts you in the better position always. Do not be distracted in decisions.

Look at this:

At the Home of Martha and Mary (Luke 10)
38As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. 40But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!"
41"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, 42but only one thing is needed.
Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."

Pure Grace.

Available for all.

Anytime.

All ways.

Always.
