It was a week of firsts. My first day
teaching again after 8 years. Camdens first day as a 4th grader. Logans first day as a 2nd grader. Mason's first day at day care. I am having an awesome week teaching. It definetly is what I was called to do. Camden and Logan love their teachers. Mason had an okay day. He cried when Jason dropped him off and was crying when I came and got him. But the staff at the daycare said he did really well for never being in a daycare.

Idlewild Park
It seems this summer was the summer of amusement parks. Camden and Logan and their friend Sarah went on the caterpillar which is shown above. We went to Waldameer and Cedar Point in June; Marineland and Idlewild in August. We had a great time at Idlewild and got to visit L.C.C.C. again. It brought back a lot of great memories. One of them is when Jason asked me to marry him.Wednesday, August 15, 2007

Harry Potter
I was not one of the many fans who waited outside bookstores for the seventh book. I didn't pre-order my book either. I actually borrowed the book from a friend. I am, however, a huge Harry Potter fan and this book solidified my love for the series. It took me 5 days to read the book largely due to the fact that I am a mom who has three kids and couldn't afford to pull an all nightier. I am actually glad that it took me that long to read the book. I got to digest it and really think about what I read. I read Chapter 34 to the end 4 times. There are many quotes and ideas that were unbelievable. "Why had he never appreciated what a miracle he was, brain and nerve and bounding heart?" page 692 Harry's outlook on life changes in the last few chapters. Anyone who thinks this book is all about witchcraft and the promotion of it is so sadly mistaken. I am going to be buying the whole set once it comes out for my kids. I also would love to discuss the book with anyone. I have never felt so moved by a fictional book before. I encourage anyone who is slightly interested in Harry Potter to read them all and then judge for themselves.

summer of fun

This summer we have been trying to enjoy just being at home together. The kids and I made a list of 15 things we would like to try and do this summer. So far we have done 6 or 7 of them. On Monday we rode our bikes around all of presque isle. I thought that was pretty amazing for Camden and Logan to ride 13. 1miles. On Tuesday we went to Splash Lagoon for the day. Mason loves the lazy river. I think we went around at least 15 times. Camden got to hang out with his cousin Bryce who never was at Splash Lagoon. On Wednesday we went to the beach since it was so hot. IN a few minutes we will be leaving for Detroit to go visit Jason's brother and his wife and two kids. The boys haven't seen their cousins in over a year and a half.
Next week we get to go Buffalo and visit old friends. We also are going to go to Marineland and there is a wooden playground my boys loved to go to when we lived there. This summer has been very fun and relaxing. The only thing that I am still waiting for is a teaching job. I may have to subsitute this year. I don't want to do that since it is so erractic and the pay really isn't that good but if it is my only option of getting my foot in the door I may have to do it.
Hope everyone else is enjoying their summer.
